19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Victory also means he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to win a title is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His retrieving approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to create a decider.

He saved four early-game chances in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
